Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: August 18, 2026
1. Overview
This policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for services provided by Arkans Corporation, operating publicly as “Arkans”. Questions or requests: hello@arkans.ca.
2. Previews are free
Preview requests are free, and no payment is required before viewing a preview. You only pay if you decide to move forward after seeing the preview.
3. The upfront payment
When you accept an engagement under the founding offer, the CAD 900 upfront payment covers your first 3 months of maintenance, with setup waived. Paid work — launch preparation, build-out, hosting setup, and maintenance — begins after acceptance and payment.
If you cancel during the initial prepaid 3-month period, cancellation stops renewal after that prepaid period, and your website and services stay live through the end of the prepaid period — unless there is misuse, nonpayment, or another valid service issue.
4. Refunds
Because this is service-based work that begins shortly after acceptance, refunds are limited:
- If Arkans has not started paid work on your engagement, you may request cancellation and a refund of what you have paid.
- If work has started, fees may be partially refundable or non-refundable, based on the work performed up to the cancellation request.
- Completed billing periods are not refunded, unless required by law or separately agreed in writing.
- Payment-processing fees charged by Stripe may be non-refundable where applicable.
5. Cancelling monthly maintenance
You can cancel at any time with written notice to hello@arkans.ca. When you cancel, future payments stop from the next billing cycle, and you keep access to your website, hosting, and maintenance through the end of the current paid billing period. Cancellation does not refund the current or past billing periods. After the paid period ends, hosting and maintenance under the plan end.
If you want to take the website code with you after cancelling, a one-time CAD 1,000 code buyout is available — see the Terms and Conditions for details.
6. Disputes
If something is wrong, contact hello@arkans.ca first — most issues can be resolved directly and quickly. We would rather fix a problem than have you dispute a charge you do not understand.
